On July 21, 2018, the OPTIONS Consortium hosted the “Insight to Impact: Driving Demand Creation for HIV Prevention.” This full-day AIDS 2018 pre-conference showcased world-class solutions to driving demand for preventative HIV behaviors, products and services. It included bite-sized interactive talks centered around real-world communications strategies, presented by multinational public health and communications professionals from both the public and private sectors.

Demand Creation Challenge

Unique to the pre-conference was the first Demand Creation Challenge – a competition designed to highlight innovative, high-impact communications-based approaches to HIV prevention. Challenge winners were announced on June 28 and were showcased at the event.

The Insight to Impact AIDS 2018 pre-conference was hosted by the OPTIONS Consortium, in collaboration with Jhpiego, PATH, POWER, Prevention Market Manager, and WHO. The Optimizing Prevention Technology Introduction on Schedule (OPTIONS) Consortium is one of five interlinked projects funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), in partnership with the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), to expedite and sustain access to antiretroviral-based HIV prevention products.
