Updated recommendations on HIV prevention, infant diagnosis, antiretroviral initiation and monitoring

These guidelines provide new and updated recommendations on the use of point-of-care testing in children under 18 months of age and point-of-care tests to monitor treatment in people living with HIV; the treatment monitoring algorithm; and timing of antiretroviral therapy (ART) among people living with HIV who are being treated for tuberculosis.

Consolidated Guidelines on HIV Prevention, Diagnosis, Treatment and Care for Key Populations (2014)

In 2014, WHO updated its Consolidated guidelines on the use of antiretroviral drugs for treating and preventing HIV infection to include a recommendation of PrEP as a prevention option for gay men and other men who have sex with men; this document also recognizes the utility of PrEP for serodiscordant couples in some contexts.

PrEP Communications Accelerator

The PrEP Communications Accelerator is a free interactive, digital resource that builds sample communications strategy to create demand for PrEP among target audiences in sub-Saharan Africa.
